The Morphy Richards 48271 Accents Breadmaker Stainless Steel is a pretty good breadmaker and offers up several of the must have features needed to be really satisfied with your machine, but we still prefer the Panasonic SD255 breadmaker with Raisin Nut Dispenser.

The 48271 however has some nifty added touches including three curst settings (very useful) allowing you to bake the bread to your own individual preferences.  The added recipe book is also very useful particularly if you are new to the bread maker world!

The box contains: Breadmaker, pan, kneading blade, measuring spoons, measuring cup and some recipes.

Our favourite, and indeed the UK’s, the Panasonic SD255 Breadmaker with Raisin/Nut Dispenser has just dropped in price again for Christmas. Just like last year the SD255 is expected to be the most popular bread maker sold this year and no doubt many of these are going to be given as presents.

The problem we noticed last year is that prices fluctuated alot, which meant that you often miss out on the best deals as you get closer to the 25th December. Stock also started to run out adding further stress to shoppers!

Well, alas, the Panasonic SD255 has just been dropped in price making it even better value for money today!

Morphy Richards 48268 Breadmaker Stainless Steel ‘Need to Knows’

The Morphy Richards 48268 allows you to easily make a 2 lb loaf by placing the ingredients in a bread pan before letting it automatically mix, knead prove and bake the loaf itself. You can even alter the settings to tell the 48268 how you prefer your crust: light; medium or dark!

It has a unique blade that folds down during the baking process to prevent that rather unfunctional hole in the middle of your bread that some other bread makers leave. There are a large number of bakery items that can be made with the Morphy Richards 48268 bread maker from breads and doughts, to even jam. Although we haven’t tested this one ourselves, the reviews seem promising.

This breadmaker makes a refreshing change from the mass of plain white appliances on the market and we love it’s stainless steel design. You can see why many love to leave it displayed on their kitchen worktop as opposed to hiding it away in a cupboard. This is one of the reasons that the 48268 bread maker has propelled itself to the number 3 bestseller in the UK. No doubt the cheap price of also plays a large part!

The infamous Panasonic SD255 bread maker is without a shadow of a doubt the best breadmaker available to buy in the UK, or even the world!  As mentioned above it can make breads in three different sizes, which believe it or not is a feature than most other breadmakers can’t provide.  There are also several bake modes including: 100% wholemeal (our favourite), multigrain, gluten free, sandwich bread, and even a setting for pizza dough and rolls. 

By this stage you can no doubt see for yourself that the SD255 bread maker has everything you could ever need, but hey, there’s more.  The SD255 has a bake only mode, an extremely effective control pad, cool touch housing and even a rapid bake function.

The Panasonic SD255 Breadmaker makes 3 different sized loafs – medium, large and extra large. There are many comprehensive bake modes including; 100% wholemeal, multigrain, gluten free, sandwich bread, dough setting for pizzas, rolls etc.  It also has a dispenser that adds additional ingredients automatically into the kneading process and rye bread mode. For example, it will automatically add raisins if you’re making fruit bread.

During our extensive tests this Panasonic bread maker really overwhelmed us due to its extensive features, clean design and relatively cheap price.  It is fairly straightforward to set up and actually get baking.  There is alot to be said for this as certain other breadmakers available to buy make this stage slightly time consuming in our opinion.  It also looks great which is a huge benefit!

Panasonic Sd254 ‘Need to Knows’

The Panasonic SD254 bread maker is fairly simple in design, but the build quality is excellent. Its is pretty straight forward to both setup and use, and its rapid bake option makes for pretty quick loaf baking. We also quite like the SD254’s raisin nut beeper thats allows you to additional ingredients to your bread recipe along the way. It even comes with a recipe book to help you get inspired.

Even though Panasonic have released a newer model, the SD254, this particular version still sails along at position 2 in our favourite bread makers available to buy today. Its isn’t as expensive as it’s ‘older brother’, and it doesn’t quite have all the features, but it really offers excellent value for money.
